A phonics and alphabet activity for young children and SEND pupils using picture symbol cards. It is a useful assessment tool too. Page 1 is a collection of alphabet colour noun cards from A to Z. Page 2 is a replica of page 1 in black and white. Page 3 shows all the letters of the alphabet in upper and lower case. Activity suggestions: 1.Cut and order pictures from A to Z. As children get quicker at this you could introduce a timer. Children could work in pairs to start with. 2. Children can cut and match the black and white pictures with the colour versions. 3. Children could colour in page 2. 4. Children could cut and order the letters of the alphabet and match these to the pictures. Enlarge, duplicate and laminate for durability and matching games. Activity ideas Say or write two sentence for each verb E.g. The children were having a quarrel. The children quarrelled this morning. E.g. I wash my hair each week. I washed my hair on Friday.
